Officer Ruger has a been with the department since 1997. Officer Ruger started police work in 1990 as a reserve officer in York, Maine. In 1997 he started dispatching in South Berwick and in 2000 became a Full Time Officer. He is a Field Training Officer for the department, and a Radar Instructor. Officer Ruger also works with the Maine Police Explorer Program as a cadre each year at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island.
