NOTES FROM THE CHIEF
Burning permits only allow for the burning of wood, grass and brush. You cannot burn trash such as garbage, furniture, plastic, rubber and pressure treated wood. This material must be disposed of at the Transfer Station.
Buildings under construction or renovations must remove all construction material from the work site.
Trash barrels are not allowed in the Town of South Berwick.
Some residents are burning their garbage in their wood stoves or fireplaces. This could lead to a serious chimney fire and it causes air pollution to the neighborhood.
FIREFIGHTER'S ASSOCIATION NOTES
The Second Annual Fund Drive of the South Berwick Firefighter's Association will be held again in December. Last year's drive was very successful and we hope everyone will continue to support the Fire Fighter's Association.
