South Berwick Budget Process
Budget request forms are delivered to the Department Heads in January as soon as possible after the first 6 months of the fiscal year.
Departmental budget requests are due back to the Manager sometime in late January.
The Town Manager meets with Department Heads during the months of January and February to create the Manager's proposed budget.
This budget has historically been presented to the Council at their second meeting in February.
The Council meets in workshops with the Manager and Department Heads during the month of March.
The Budget Public Hearing is held annually in April.
The Town Council's budget is finalized by the end of April.
The budget is then formatted for printing in the Town Report and
sent to the printer for inclusion in the Report which is disseminated prior to Town Meeting.
Historically, the Town Budget Meeting is held on the first Monday in June.
